EAST BRISTOL ENTERPRISE MERGER WITH BEST

Over the past months East Bristol Enterprise has been working towards a merger with local economic regeneration specialists Bristol East Side Traders (BEST). A deal was pulled together during the summer of 2008 between the two voluntary boards of directors with the intention of creating a stronger social enterprise capable of weathering the poor economic climate and providing long term support and facilities to the local business community.

Teoh, Chair of BEST and local businessman, said "This is a very good day for the team at BEST and we welcome the opportunity to pool our resources and move forward for the long term benefit of the small business community in this area." These sentiments were strongly echoed by the EBE Chair, Neil Pirie.

The merger means that we are able to bring together the business centres at Felix Road, The Old Co-op, Trinity Road Library and The Schoolhouse in Barton Hill into our growing network of centres. The team has also been expanded with Jill Humphrey from BEST joining the team as Business Development Director.
